The Denkfabrik

Welcome to the brain - that's the think tank
This is a big Thinktank
The factories are called institutes that influence public opinion formation by researching, developing and evaluating political, social and economic concepts and strategies, thereby promoting them in the sense of policy advice.
Some think tanks have a certain political or ideological line that is aggressively promoted to influence political debates.
There is no definition
The term think tank encompasses very different institutions whose common feature is the desire to influence politics. In linguistic usage, however, the term also includes subsumed institutions that do not pursue political goals.
One of the most important features of think tanks is:
- the presentation of research results
- the agenda setting
- the promotion of a public and scientific debate
- the consultation of politics, administration and public
The term "think tank" was created during the Second World War. The description was for a tap-proof place (tank), where civilian and military experts worked on military strategies (think). It was not until the 1960s and 1970s that practically oriented research institutions were labeled outside of security policy.
